Aaron Masters Answers Your Questions

Reader

You asked for it. I finally got Aaron to sit still long enough to answer some of your questions—and yes, Russell was laying at his feet the entire time.

Love Found picks up with Aaron and Nina married and settling into life in Pinetree, Vermont. He’s managing Royal’s Pub & Brewery, she’s turning their little second-floor walkup into a home, and Russell is still following them both around like the lovesick doggo he is.

But with Valentine’s Day approaching, a snowstorm rolling in, and old insecurities creeping back up, these two discover that “happily ever after” takes actual work.

Will the winter chill between them melt or will Valentine’s Day be ruined?

Q&A WITH AARON

Q: How’s married life treating you?

A: Honestly? It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I come home every day and Sunshine’s there. Sometimes she’s baking—her peanut butter cookies should be illegal—sometimes she’s looking at houses on her laptop, and Russell’s always right at her feet. I spent two years in a place where I didn’t think I’d ever have this. So yeah. I don’t take a single second of it for granted.

Q: What’s the hardest part about your fresh start in Pinetree?

A: Believing I deserve it. Nina gets furious when I say I’m not good enough for her. She hit me in the chest last time and told me I was being hurtful—not to myself, to her. That if I keep saying that, I’m saying she has no judgment. She’s right. She’s always right. I’m working on it.

Q: What’s your Valentine’s Day plan?

A: Nice try. I’m not telling you because Nina reads this newsletter. I will say this: last Valentine’s Day I bid on her at a charity date auction and it was the smartest thing I’ve ever done. This year I want to top that. I promised myself I’d make it fucking perfect.

Q: Tell us something Nina does that drives you crazy.

A: She won’t wear the no-slip socks I bought her. Our apartment has hardwood floors and she slides into me at full speed every time I walk in the door. One day she’s going to take us both out. Also she refuses to let me hang my retro street signs in the bedroom. Something about clashing with her Victorian furniture. I’m choosing my battles.
